Questions about Payoffs
I’d like to pay off my loan or sell my car. How do I request a pay-off?
Please give CULS customer service a call at (866) 612-2857. They will happily provide you with what you need to get an accurate payoff quote.
I’ve paid off my loan, but it’s still on my credit report. Why?
CULS reports the status of your loan to the credit bureaus. It can take up to 30 days for your credit report to reflect this. If you feel your credit report does not accurately reflect your loan status, you may file a dispute with the three major credit bureaus. Please make sure to provide the bureaus with a copy of you official paid in full letter. For more information, please follow the links below.
I’ve sent in my pay-off, but I’ve sent more than I owe. When will I get a refund?
If you paid with certified funds, CULS put the refund along with the official paid in full letter in the mail the next business day. If you paid using non-certified funds, it may take CULS up to 10 business days to process your refund.
What’s the difference between certified and non-certified funds?
Certified funds are guaranteed by a bank, credit union, or other financial institution. Cashier’s checks are the most common type of certified funds. Non-certified funds are payments that are not guaranteed. These include personal checks and money orders.
